Coromandel Distilling Co was founded by scientists Paul Schneider and Daniela Suess, whose shared fascination with mānuka honey sparked a wild and flavourful journey. What began as an experiment with honey mead soon evolved into something extraordinary, and before long, their guest cabin had transformed into a tiny coastal distillery.
With scientific precision, curiosity and a love of nature, they set out to create a gin unlike any other. Through endless refining, testing and tasting, their spirit finally stood its ground, even in blind tastings against some of the world’s most acclaimed gins.
Today, Coromandel Distilling Co reflects their belief that craft distilling is both an art and a science, a distilled expression of wild places, bold botanicals, and beautifully balanced flavour.
