Brunnur Distillery Ehf was founded in March 2017 by entrepreneurs Junio Carchini and Óskar Ericsson. What started as a small kitchen experiment, distilling purely for personal enjoyment, soon revealed far greater potential. Driven by curiosity, craftsmanship and a clear vision, the project quickly grew beyond its humble beginnings.
Today, this Icelandic spirit has become one of the most recognisable and widely enjoyed gins on the local market. It is served in leading bars and high-end restaurants across Europe and the United States, including several Michelin-starred venues that value authenticity, balance and provenance.
At Keflavík International Airport, the distillery’s expressions have become a staple in the Duty-Free store. For many visitors, it represents the perfect way to take a piece of Icelandic craftsmanship home, a bottle that tells a story long after the journey ends.
International recognition followed quickly. In 2019, the distillery’s Old Tom expression was awarded World’s Best Gin in the Compound Gin category at the prestigious World Gin Awards in London. A defining moment that firmly placed Iceland on the global gin map.
